 Their fourth album, "Lifted," was well-received and led to the simultaneous release of "Wide Awake" and "Digital Ash," with lead singles "Take It Easy (Love Nothing)" and "Lua" debuting in the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100. "First Day of My Life" from "Wide Awake" was later voted the number-one love song of all time. While the band experienced a heady and exciting time, fame also brought tension and stress, particularly with the political climate. Oberst continues experimenting with the extremes in the band's earlier releases.
