Costello, Elvis & the Roots Wise Up Thought Remixes & Reworks

Remixes of Elvis Costello's collabo with The Roots by Karriem Riggins, Menahan Street Band, & Chico Mann. Talk about curveball! Never would I have thought The Roots would collaborate with celebrated songwriter Elvis Costello but with their recent stay at the in house band for Jimmy Fallon it seems weirder can happen. Wise Up Ghost was equal parts Roots x Costello with a contemporary sounds in Soul and some straight up party starters but never a "why is Wiz Khalifa on that" moment on the album... which is a good thing. Now we are treated to some tasty remixes and reworks from modern Jazz pioneer turn incredible beat smith producer Karriem Riggins, Brooklyn Funk ensemble Menahan Street Band, and Latin Afro Funkers Antibalas. Expect some very Soulquarian moments coming from Riggins, and the Menahan rework is, dare I say, better than the OG. Antibalas round it out with sounds of a New York Summer with a great percussive effort. Yeah all this on a single 10".  DO IT!
